Cancer is a malignant tumor that grows progressively if not treated in time. Global statistics remind us how important vigilance is: although there are more than 200 types of cancer, early diagnosis radically changes the prognosis.
💡 Medical note: A tumor is not the same as cancer. Tumors can be benign (non-malignant) or malignant, and correct, timely detection is what distinguishes a simple case from a serious illness.
The oncologists of the SANCOS Clinic specialize mainly in two major areas: diagnosing and removing skin growths and diagnosing/treating breast cancer.
Skin Growths: From Screening to Treatment
Initial Consultation & Clinical Examination
A detailed discussion of your medical history, risk factors and family history. The lesion is examined visually, by palpation and with a high-precision dermatoscope.
Skin Biopsy (If Needed)
Because non-melanoma skin cancer rarely spreads, a biopsy is practically the only test needed to confirm the diagnosis and stage. It consists of removing a small amount of tissue under local anesthesia.
Histopathological Analysis
The biological material is examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The oncologist then reviews the histopathology results and establishes the final diagnosis and the treatment plan.
At SANCOS you can get the following oncology services:
- Specialist consultations with experienced oncologists;
- Modern examination of skin growths: digital dermoscopy;
- Safe surgical removal of skin growths: moles (nevi), hemangiomas, sebaceous cysts, angiomas, dermatofibromas, lipomas, keratoses, etc.;
- Highly accurate biopsies and histopathological examinations of skin growths.
