The most common endocrine condition is thyroid dysfunction, caused by a hormonal imbalance – a gland producing too much or too little hormone – or by growths (nodules) on the gland, which affect how the endocrine gland works.

🎯 Some endocrine diseases have no symptoms and are discovered during routine checkups and annual laboratory tests. That is why we have created a preventive checkup package for endocrine conditions, especially to assess the risk of diabetes.

The most common endocrine diseases are:

Thyroid Diseases:

  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Autoimmune thyroiditis
  • Thyroid nodules
  • Thyroid cancer

Pituitary & Adrenal Glands:

  • Pituitary adenomas
  • Hypopituitarism / Diabetes insipidus
  • Cushing's syndrome / Hypercortisolism
  • Adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease)
  • Hyperaldosteronism / Pheochromocytoma

Parathyroid & Sex Glands:

  • Hyperparathyroidism
  • Hypoparathyroidism
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Infertility / Menopause
  • Hypogonadism

Ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of the thyroid

Thyroid ultrasound is used to examine and diagnose thyroid nodules and any changes in the gland, and ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of the thyroid can complete the examination of thyroid disease. Several factors stimulate the formation of nodules and cysts on the thyroid, the main one being iodine deficiency.

Indications for the aspiration:

  • The nodule found is larger than 1 cm;
  • The nodule found is smaller than 1 cm but has unclear outlines;
  • Multiple enlarged nodules.

The aspiration procedure:

Thyroid aspiration is the main preoperative examination method. A fine needle is inserted into the thyroid nodule to take a sample of cells and determine their nature.
